Humans vs Zombies
End of Summer Game
Heritage State Park
Holyoke, MA

Humans vs. Zombies was invented at Goucher College in 2005. The game spread virally across the internet as students first gained access to Facebook, and told their friends from home about the game. Today, HvZ is played at over 650 colleges and universities across the world, as well as high schools, military bases, summer camps, and public libraries.

Many players report that Humans vs. Zombies is one of the most meaningful experiences of their lives. The game creates deep bonds between players, instantly removing social boundaries by forcing players to engage as equals and cooperate for their survival."

HvZ in Holyoke is currently hosted by Luis Santos. The pastime here nearly came to an end due to tension between members. The tension has been quelled under the new HvZ host who is a dedicated mediator between players.
