FEATURING Lorenz @renny__kenny of Harlem NYC who says;”This is a special picture to me. Growing up I’ve always been picked on because I was underweight. People have called me weak, skinny, anorexic, and so many other names. It may not seem that serious but after a while it can get to someone and really make them start hating their body like it did to me. I spent so long hating my body because I wasn’t as muscular or as fit as the other guys. I hated it because I didn’t exactly fit the description of what today’s society would consider to be a “perfect” body. In this picture, I was actually embracing my body. I didn’t feel like I was too skinny or like my weight was a problem, I got to just be me and be comfortable in my own skin. Yes, I may not have a body like everyone else, but it doesn’t mean that that’s a bad thing. People spend so long hating their bodies because they think that they’re too fat, too skinny, or anything else that doesn’t fit the standards that society has set. I just want to say forget these standards, forget what people think about your body. You should embrace your body as it is. Yes some of us may not look like the models in the magazines or the stars in the movies but that isn’t a bad thing. Yes, it would be nice to be them but it’s even better to be you. Whether you believe it or not, your body can be just as desirable as theirs are. I’m proud to say that I’ve grown to actually be ok with my weight, despite what others think about it and I hope that others who feel insecure about their bodies do the same at some point. We are how we are, and we look how we look, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of. Let this be a reminder to all of you. Know that you look amazing just the way you are. Thank you @projectskinnyboy for taking these pictures and allowing me to be a part of your project that allows people like me to embrace their bodies. Hopefully Project Skinny goes very far and inspires many people to just embrace the body that they have and feel comfortable with themselves”
